Description

Happy Autumn everyone.

So here's a thought I had for Fall, and the fast-approaching October/Halloween season. What if the Bulbasaur species had a spookier breed of relatives? The Patchosaur line, consisting of PatchosaurGourdosaur and Jackosaur, are very similar to Bulbasaur and its evolutions, save for some very key differences, as you can see.

-Patchosaur:
Starts with a budding flower on its back which opens wider as it grows older. Small vines indicate this pokemon will grow leaves upon evolving. It likes to hide in ivy patches with its flower open to the sun.

-Gourdosaur:
When Patchosaur evolves, its flower becomes a brilliant, orange pumpkin. It houses seeds which the Gourdosaur can spit like bullets. It too likes to wander around overgrowth such as ivy patches, weeds, and of course pumpkin patches. Its darker colouration makes it difficult for people to tell if the pumpkin is a plain one, or if it belongs to a Gourdosaur. Also, its vines stick out less, and are tucked behind the leaves on its back so it can run away without getting caught on branches or brush.

-Jackosaur:
The final evolution sees the rare occurrence of a Grass type pokemon turning into a Grass/Fire type, as its pumpkin takes the form of a fiery jack-o-lantern. The glowing eyes and crooked mouth of the pumpkin now act as a fear-inducing defense mechanism. As Jackosaur wanders the woods at night, the pumpkin's menacing glow (accompanied by Jackosaur's heavy steps and booming groans) frightens other pokemon into fleeing for their lives.
Jackosaur are relatively placid and highly-intelligent, so they will avoid a fight if confronted. But if backed into a corner, Jackosaur will unleash a super-heated fire attack, and may even sacrifice its own vines to hold enemies in place as it tries to bathe them in flames.

Anyway....these guys were super fun to make, and I hope you like them. :pumpkin: And thanks for the support you have given, which encourages me to apply strange and fun ideas to the things I enjoy drawing. It's a treat.
